Anna Naumova graduated with honors the Tomsk State University (Russia) with an MS in biology and applied informatics; then she obtained PhD from the Institute of Cardiology (Tomsk, Russia) and the Doctor Habilitatus degree from the Moscow State University (Russia). Currently, Dr. Naumova is a Research Associate Professor at the Department of Radiology, UW Medicine. She has a long-standing interest in biomedical imaging of cardiac regeneration. Dr. Naumova is collaborating with other UW faculties in development of non-invasive imaging techniques to bridge the gap between cardiac therapies and subsequent health outcome. In collaboration with Dr. Yarnykh, Dr. Naumova is developing cardiac MRI technique based on the endogenous macromolecular contrast mechanisms. The ultimate goal of Dr. Naumova’s research is to bring new quantitative imaging technologies to address the unmet needs of the regenerative medicine, myocardial tissue characterization and heart failure treatment outcome with transplanted cells.
